BDX SMS Tug Towage Customer Testimonial
SMS towage have been working with MDS Europe for more than five years and using BDX for over four years. They invited us to pay them a visit and hear their feedback on our hero product, BDX Bulldog
BDX 4 ball Wear Scar Test
This one hour test demonstrates a lubricants anti-wear properties. BullDog BDX produced outstanding results that were almost undetectable by the naked eye. The wear scar was measured at an incredible 0.45mm. We also tried to test the best known ‘market leading’ multifunction product, that test attempt had to be abandoned after only 7 seconds due to excessive vibration and wear occurring.
BDX 4 Ball Weld Test
The weld test is run for 10 seconds at increasing loads/weights. If the ball bearings remain free at the end of the test, another test is run with new bearings at an incrementally increased weight.
Jimmy De Ville's Garage using BDX during his latest project
Barn Find Fergie. Episode 1. How To Remove The Head (Assisted by BDX)

Barn Find Fergie. Episode 2. How To Free Seized Pistons (Assisted by BDX)
In this episode, with the assistance of BULLDOG BDX, Jimmy and Gav go to war with the engine by showing how to remove siezed pistons. Will this engine run again?
Episode 3. How To Check Your Main Bearings and Housings (Assisted by BDX)
Watch Gav and Jimmy prepare to replace the pistons and liners in the tractors engine before discovering why it’s very important to check the main bearings and housings and before rebuilding an engine.
Industry Testimonials
Manufacturing
Task: Releasing motor couplings, preventing seizing, protecting from corrosion.
Result: “We have a double grinder clay mill which grades and mills the clay ready to make bricks from. It has twin electric motors and number 2 motor needed to come off to be changed. When we went to remove it the coupling which attaches the motor to the machine it was completely seized on. We tried everything to get it off, heat, pullers, brute force etc. and nothing. So we gave it a squirt of BDX top and bottom and left it overnight. Next morning we gave it a light tap and off it came. It just doesn’t get any better does it!”
Quarrying
Task: Chain lubrication, protecting from corrosion, preventing seizing.
Result: “We have a big wash barrel at the Queen Mary quarry & reservoir. It’s basically like a big tombola barrel but it is for washing aggregates. It is chain driven. Before we would have to get in at the drive chain and grease it up by hand. With BDX we can drip feed it onto the chain without removing the safety guards, which stay in place. BDX lubes everything beautifully without getting dirt stuck to it, we do it less often as it stays in place longer than grease. Most importantly as we can do it without removing the safety guards it is much SAFER.“
Food Processing Industry
Task: Releasing & preventing corrosion on boiler fittings
Result: “The boss and myself where trying to undo a fitting on a steam boiler but it was seized solid. We were both swinging on it with big shifting wrenches. I sprayed a little BDX on it and in a couple of minutes I was able to undo it myself. The boss was more than happy to buy more after that. It’s like night and day compared to what we used to use.“
"It just doesn't get any better..." - "It works so we use it" - "It works where other products don't by a mile" - " MotorCycle News Rated for Quality ☆☆☆☆☆ & Value ☆☆☆☆☆ " - "We use it everywhere now"

Task: Releasing seized bolts on a lot of my old machinery, lubricating parts in the workshop, pre-treating parts & threaded components to stop them corroding
Result: “As with the Viscous Gear Lube product I also use, I was a bit sceptical at first but once I had used it a few times I reach for the can before anything else now – I even used it on seized windows in the workshop which wouldn’t open after winter, they were stiff as hell but BDX made it so I could open them with a flick of my fingers. Just a shame you changed the name it was a great one “ pass me the mutts nuts” was often heard in the workshop!”
Offshore & Marine
Task: Preventing salt water corrosion and seizing of anchor joining pins under water
Result: “We use a set-up of our own design to join anchor chains with 3” and 4” thick metal pins that allow the joining points to be set at different angles. The main problem with this is that they seize solid after some time in the water even with anti-seize compound. We found that coating them in BDX before applying the compound gave us a much better result. As the joints can be under salt water for anything from 30 days to 6 months the anti-seize eventually washes off but BDX continues to be effective beyond that and makes the components easily freed when the time comes. We have been doing this for several years now and will continue to do so for many more.“
